NEON KNIGHT

Welcome to NEON KNIGHT, a fast-paced platformer bullet-hell game created for the 2023 Epic MegaJam.

STORY:

In a distant future where solar storms threaten Earth's surface, humanity moves underground and deems art nonessential. To preserve cultural heritage, humanity digitizes art into NFTs, stored on a public server. When malicious bots threaten these digital treasures, the NEON Knight AI is created to safeguard and recover stolen NFTs. Now, in the year 9378, the NEON Knight embarks on a mission to retrieve several recently stolen high-value assets.

FEATURES:

• Custom Collision Detection: Niagara Particle Collision System ensures precise bullet interactions.
• Three Turret Enemy Types: Features three distinct turret enemies that use Niagara collision for bullet interactions.
• Sword Deflection: The player can use their sword to deflect incoming bullets.
• Custom Cloth Simulation: Utilized systems within Unreal Engine for a Cloth System for the game Player character.
• Handcrafted Materials: Materials in NEON KNIGHT were created from scratch.
• Dynamic Dash Mechanic: Developed entirely from scratch, this feature adds depth and excitement to gameplay, offering players a high-skill mobility option.
• Procedural Content Generation: A PCG graph system was created and used to speed up level creation for the Jam.
• Original Soundtrack: Custom music composed exclusively for the game.
